Speech and OT School and Outreach Programs

Blossom Rural partners with rural schools & childcares to deliver an accessible and consistent Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy service via a Hybrid or telehealth approach.

Through this model, we have seen significant progress and outstanding outcomes for students, which we are very proud of.

Building on this experience, Blossom Rural offers a hybrid model of care for rural school partnerships, combining weekly telehealth sessions with scheduled in-person visits (once or twice per term depending on your location). This model is designed to maximise both consistency and connection, while remaining highly cost-effective for schools and funding bodies.

This model of care ensures:

Consistency of support

Students receive weekly telehealth sessions while at school or preschool, ensuring regular, structured intervention without disruption.

Collaboration with educators and care teams

Therapy goals are directly linked with classroom priorities, with strategies embedded into everyday learning environments through close collaboration with teachers and childcare educators.

More therapy, less travel cost

By reducing weekly travel requirements, funding is redirected away from travel costs and instead invested into increased therapy time and improved outcomes for children in rural and remote communities.

Why a 'Hybrid-Model' works

The hybrid model has been designed specifically for rural and remote schools/preschools/services, where service delivery is limited by workforce shortages, travel distance, and inconsistent access to care.

By combining telehealth with scheduled in-person visits, we ensure continuity of care while maintaining strong relationships, within the community.

Partnership Process

Submit an Enquiry

Complete the enquiry form below with information about your school, organisation or service, including student or child needs, therapy goals, location, current supports and service gaps. This allows Blossom Rural to consider the most appropriate way to provide support through our hybrid model of care.

Consultation & Planning

Blossom Rural will review your enquiry and arrange a consultation to discuss your therapy needs, location, service goals, funding requirements and the most appropriate model of support.
Following this, we will prepare a tailored quote for your school, organisation or service.

Referral Planning

Together, we’ll begin referral planning. Your organisation will prepare a list of children or students who may benefit from support and identify any priority needs. This helps us understand who requires therapy, what support may be most helpful, and how to plan services around your setting.

Initial Consultation

We will complete an initial consultation with parents, caregivers and educators to gather case history information, understand each student’s needs, identify current supports and clarify goals for assessment and intervention planning.

Assessment & Goal Setting

Blossom Rural will complete appropriate assessments and collaborate with families, teachers and support teams to identify each student’s strengths, needs and priorities. Assessment findings will guide the development of clear, functional and measurable therapy goals for intervention.

Telehealth Sessions

We provide regular telehealth therapy sessions during school hours to support consistent access to intervention. This model reduces travel time, service costs and disruption, while supporting continuity of care for rural and remote students.

Outreach Visits

We will schedule in-person outreach visits once or twice per term, depending on location, funding and service requirements. These visits provide opportunities for therapists to build rapport, observe students within their school environment, deliver hands on support, and strengthen collaboration with educators, families and support teams.

Review & Reporting

Our team provide ongoing reporting, review student progress and adjust therapy goals as needed. This ensures intervention remains relevant, effective and aligned with each student’s changing needs, school context and therapy priorities.

Please note: Each partnership is tailored to the unique needs of your school or preschool/daycare, student cohort and available funding. Services can be scaled depending on student needs, staffing, and budget allocation.
