Blossom Rural has previously partnered with rural schools to deliver an accessible and consistent Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy service via telehealth.
Through this model, we have seen significant progress and outstanding outcomes for students, which we are very proud of.
Building on this experience, Blossom Rural offers a hybrid model of care for rural school partnerships, combining weekly telehealth sessions with scheduled in-person visits (once or twice per term depending on your location). This model is designed to maximise both consistency and connection, while remaining highly cost-effective for schools and funding bodies.
This model of care ensures:
Consistency of support
Students receive weekly telehealth sessions while at school or preschool, ensuring regular, structured intervention without disruption.
Collaboration with educators and care teams
Therapy goals are directly linked with classroom priorities, with strategies embedded into everyday learning environments through close collaboration with teachers and childcare educators.
More therapy, less travel cost
By reducing weekly travel requirements, funding is redirected away from travel costs and instead invested into increased therapy time and improved outcomes for children in rural and remote communities.
Why this works
This model has been designed specifically for rural and remote schools/preschools/services, where traditional service delivery is limited by workforce shortages, travel distance, and inconsistent access to care.
By combining telehealth with scheduled in-person visits, we ensure continuity of care while maintaining strong relationships, within the community.
